Job Shadowing Program

Interested in learning more about industries and job roles related to your major? Job Shadowing: Tigers Behind the Scenes provides students the opportunity to spend a full day observing a professional in a career field, offering valuable insights into potential career paths. This in-person experience will take place during TU's spring break, from March 16–20, 2026.
What is required to participate in the Job Shadowing Program?
Students are responsible for the following to participate in the program:
- Attend one mandatory Information Session
- After attending an Information Session, students will receive a link to the application form
- Attend one mandatory Orientation Session to prepare for the experience
- Once matched, it is the student's responsibility to make contact with the 51AValum or employer host to arrange a job shadow date/time/location
- Prepare for the experience by researching the organization, developing questions to ask, and practicing a 30-second commercial or “elevator pitch”
- Attend the job shadowing experience and be engaged
- Complete a survey and send a thank you email
Information Sessions
Register for a mandatory Job Shadowing: Tigers Behind the Scenes Information Session. Information sessions will be posted in late fall 2025.

Mandatory Prep Sessions
If you are selected to participate in job shadowing, you must attend one mandatory prep session. You will receive the registration links once you attend an information session.
Students will be matched by a Career Center staff member based on both host preference and student career interest.
